Victor Carinha, Founder & Artistic Director

Victor Carinha is the Founder and Artistic Director of Journey Lab, a theatre company and creative production studio based out of New York City that has created and produced award-winning international productions. He is the creator and director of The Revenants in Moscow and Faceless in Saint Petersburg and is credited with domestic works such as The Alving Estate, Astor & Grey, and pre-Journey Lab pieces. His work has garnered prestigious awards and nominations including a Golden Mask 17’, has been recognized by Lincoln Center and StoryCode as a pioneer in the immersive market (as a brand), and channels his obsession for storytelling into new, experimental works.

While the mediums may change, Victor is most interested in creating and producing experimental works that combine disciplines into transformative narrative worlds that place the audience at the heart of the experience. He is dedicated to exploring the best work that achieves the highest impact for our audience, growth-based inspiring challenges for our artists, and innovative work that explores our fundamental human condition in imaginative worlds. He believes storytelling can create opportunities that bring communities together, using art and creative expression as a tool to bridge cultures with respect and compassion.

His background experience includes: advisement, operations, and culture for (mostly during start-up phases) Warby Parker, Larsson & Jennings, and Away; as well as having performed.
